Mesothelioma Injury Cases

Many experts believe a single strand of asbestos is sufficient to trigger mesothelioma injuries; with the widespread use of asbestos, these were simply impossible to avoid. And even if from its first industrial usage everyone knew asbestos was nasty stuff, no-one knew quite how nasty it was. It became obvious in the 1960's that tiny asbestos particles inhaled were the main cause of mesothelioma, a particularly unpleasant, virulent and fatal form of cancer.

And the blame for this kind of exposure is the main issue in many mesothelioma lawsuits, because workers and others exposed to asbestos were never informed about the dangers, so there was no way that the average person could have avoided these dangers.

The mesothelioma victims usually blame the companies from which many construction workers have earned their living. Many companies had commissioned advertising and public relations campaigns asserting the excellence of their asbestos product, because denial and secrecy were their solution, even if it damaged the company itself, as well as its workers and customers. Popular opinion, regulation, and the market forced companies to accept their guilt and pay for mesothelioma injuries of their workers. Today, asbestos manufacture in the developed world is at an end, although people continue to develop mesothelioma. And as a measure of reducing the occurrence of mesothelioma, throughout the U.S. is taking place the removal of asbestos in schools and other public buildings.

A real problem is the fact that equipment containing asbestos remains in use, and buildings containing asbestos fiber will require maintenance, repair, encapsulation and/or removal. The long latency periods for asbestos-related disease, especially mesothelioma, further complicate estimated projections for the future.

But we live in a political and legal environment that has as a primary objective assigning blame. And some people believe that the tragedy of mesothelioma was not, anyone's fault. It was a cruel trick that nature played on us.
