Against Mesothelioma

Working with asbestos is the major risk factor for Mesothelioma. A history of asbestos exposure at work is reported in about 70 % to 80 % of cases. Therefore, the best way to protect against Mesothelioma is to avoid exposing to asbestos. This means not to use for a long time asbestos products and especially to use protection in an environment with dust and fiber of asbestos. And if in our days there are some limitations for using asbestos products, the problems appear when we take into account the fact that mesothelioma develops in more than 20 years from the exposure. In these cases we can speak only about ways of treating Mesothelioma or of managing the pain.

Treating mesothelioma injuries is a harder thing to do and it involves medical practices, a lot of testing and patience because there isn't any magic drug to deal with this disease. But the United States of America 's National Cancer Institute (NCI) is sponsoring clinical trials (research studies with people) that are designed to find new treatments and better ways to use current treatments. And recent discoveries bring new hopes from suffering people, like the one of some British researchers who showed that a new chemotherapy combination of a new drug called pemetrexed (developed by Eli Lilly) with carboplatin has "remarkable" effects against the hard-to-treat Mesothelioma.

But many people need not only medical support, but also moral one or even legal counseling concerning managed care, insurance, financial issues, job discrimination and debt crisis matters. And for the legal aspects specialized firms for mesothelioma lawsuit and associations or foundations are willing to help.
